Free FIFA Online Open Public Beta Launched by EA

Today EA has launched the public beta of FIFA Online worldwide, which will allow players to compete with 500 clubs from 28 licensed leagues and more than 15,000 players. This title will follow a similar model to EA’s PGA Tour Online game and is available for download completely free of charge.

“Soccer fans have helped drive the game’s evolution and development through our testing period and now we are ready to share the game with a much larger audience,” said Executive Producer Kaz Makita. “The FIFA World Cup attracts casual soccer fans all over the world and we are inviting them to try a free soccer game they can play at work or home and win the FIFA World Cup virtually.”

EA has given football fans all over the globe more than enough gameplay recently with well-received 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa console title as well as their FIFA Superstars Facebook application. However, that hasn’t stopped EA from going full steam ahead with a new iteration of the FIFA franchise in the form of a free to download version titled FIFA Online said to be finished for release in the next 12 to 24 months.
